Elissa Morganti
In 2004 my husband and I had accrued over $55,000 in debt. After the birth of our first daughter we decided to change our financial future and get out of debt. We found Dave Ramsey’s Total Money Makeover and our lives haven’t been the same. We managed to pay off our debt in a little over two years. To date, we still do a monthly budget and are still debt free with everything with the exception of our house.
I have worked full-time since I was 18. I worked summers and vacations all through high school. I’m not afraid to work. My background is in banking, finance, insurance, telecommunications, mortgage industry and medical billing and coding. I have been a homeschool mom to my two daughters since 2011.
During my years in the mortgage industry I volunteered as a financial counselor to housing candidates in the Habitat for Humanity program. I truly enjoyed bringing my personal knowledge of budgeting, getting out of debt, and maintaining a home to the potential candidates. Watching these individuals earn their sweat equity hours, change the course of their lives, and see a dream came to fruition was truly a blessing. That’s when I knew I wanted to do more to help people change the course of their lives. For the majority of people that is getting out of debt. For me it was learning to be a Ramsey Solutions Master Financial Coach.
More people are in debt today than ever before. Bankruptcy is on the rise. Debt ruins marriages, families as well as individual futures for years to come. But it doesn’t have to be that way.
